Ashlee Ip is a Hong Kong-based painter whose work explores the interplay between constraint and growth. In her ongoing artistic practice, she draws from both personal experience and broader psychological states to create works that navigate the tension between instinctual gesture and structural limit.

Working primarily with thin oil layers, she combines figurative silhouettes with abstract, fluid forms. These compositions, marked by translucent, layered brushstrokes, give form to the restless, ever-shifting currents of life. Her paintings function as a visual record of feelings that resist articulation—tensions and impulses caught in a moment of becoming.
